Chelsea are believed to have made an £8.2m bid for young Brazilian defender Doria.
The 18-year-old Botafogo centre-half has been targeted by the Blues with boss Jose Mourinho continuing to build a squad capable of competing on multiple fronts for years to come.
Doria, who captained Brazil’s Under-20 side to victory in the Toulon tournament earlier this summer where he was voted Defender of the Tournament, has also been targeted by Tottenham, following the defender’s eye-catching performances which have seen him likened to Thiago Silva.
Chelsea have already completed the signings of youngsters Andre Schurrle, Marco van Ginkel and Cristian Cuevas since the end of last season and now Mourinho wants to add Doria to his ranks.
