England paceman James Anderson insists his side are not getting carried away with the idea of an Ashes series whitewash, as they head into the third Test at Old Trafford with a 2-0 lead.
Alastair Cook’s men won the opening Test by just 14 runs at Trent Bridge, before demolishing Australia at Lord’s and now head into Thursday’s match knowing a victory will see them retain the urn for a second successive time.
But despite having enjoyed such domination over the tourists Anderson, who celebrates his 31st birthday today, insists there are no thoughts of a series whitewash in the England camp.
‘It (5-0) is not something we are really focusing on,’ he said.
‘We played really well in the first two games and our job is to improve on that.
‘It has gone well for us so far. We are very conscious of not getting ahead of ourselves.
