New Tottenham Hotspur signing Roberto Soldado has admitted that he is not expecting to play alongside Gareth Bale, with the Welshman’s transfer to Real Madrid looking ever-more likely.
Soldado has become Spurs’ record signing after his £26million move to White Hart Lane and while he says he would love to line up in the same side as Bale, he has suggested he is not expecting that to happen.
Bale is believed to be close to a world-record £85m move to Spain – and Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas has been doing his best to bring in new faces to offset his departure as much as possible, with Brazilian Paulinho already arriving for £17millon and Roma’s Argentina forward Erik Lamela believed to be next on the list.
