Gospel artist Marvin Sapp joins Grand Rapids Civic Theatre’s Board of Directors

Marvin Sapp 3Grand Rapids, MI – Award winning gospel singer Marvin L. Sapp has joined the Grand Rapids Civic Theatre’s board of directors.

Sapp, president and cofounder of Grand Rapids Ellington Academy of Arts and Technology, the first performance arts and technology middle/high school in West Michigan, is one of five newcomers elected to join the Civic Theatre’s board at its recent annual meeting.

Gwendolyn Jackson, Jeremiah Kossen, Jeremy Kress and Kate Wiltzer join Sapp to bring their outside experiences in business, education and other organizations throughout West Michigan to the GRCT Board

It’s been an eventful summer for Grand Rapids Civic Theatre, one of the largest community theater companies in the United States.

Longtime managing director Paul Dreher, who retired in 1999 after 39 years with GRCT, died in June after a short illness
