Is it the PlayStation 3’s fault it’s staying on shelves?
The Xbox 360 being better than the PS3 and the PS4 being cheaper than the Xbox One has given Sony the lead this gen claims Microsoft.
Microsoft execs have been trying to explain why they think the PlayStation 4 is outselling the Xbox One, and according to chief marketing and strategy officer Yusuf Mehdi it’s partially the fault of unsatisfied PlayStation 3 owners.
‘People have been more satisfied with the Xbox 360 than the PS3, so in that respect people have less of a need to upgrade in the short term due to regular updates for the Xbox 360’, he told Forbes.
He also suggested that the PlayStation 4 being available in more territories than the Xbox One was a factor, which is true but none of those countries are significant in terms of either population or their likelihood…
